Latin NCAP safety tests reveal zero ratings for seven cars in Brazil

Latin NCAP has released safety test results for seven vehicle models currently sold in Brazil, revealing that several popular models received a zero rating for occupant and pedestrian protection.

The failing vehicles include models from major manufacturers such as Stellantis (Fiat Argo and Cronos) and Citroën (C3), as well as the electric JAC E-JS1. Other models identified with zero scores are the Ford Ka (2020), Ford Ka+ (2020), and the Kia Sportage (2021, 4th generation).

The poor results were attributed to factors such as insufficient airbags, low structural rigidity, and a lack of driver assistance systems. The findings have raised concerns regarding the safety of accessible vehicles frequently purchased by consumers in the Brazilian market.
