Latin pop groups Menudo and Sin Bandera announce major concert tours
The Latin pop music scene is seeing significant activity with major tours from established acts. The Puerto Rican group Menudo is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a special concert series. The tour features a multi-generational lineup selected by Paul Tarnopol, including Rene Farrait, Roy Rossello, Raymond Acevedo, Sergio Gonzales, Ralphy Rodríguez, Rubén Gómez, and Robert Avellanet.
The Menudo tour is scheduled to begin on October 10 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, with subsequent stops in Chicago, New York, Mexico City, and Hollywood, Florida, before concluding in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on December 12. Members have noted they are undergoing intensive rehearsals to prepare the classic repertoire.
Simultaneously, the duo Sin Bandera, consisting of Noel Schajris and Leonel García, is launching the ‘Escenas Tour’ across the United States. Following a run in Latin America, the tour aims to promote the pop ballad genre amidst the current market dominance of urban and regional Mexican music. The U.S. leg begins September 18 in El Paso, Texas, and will visit cities including Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and Chicago, ending in Indianapolis on January 29.
