Latina Launches Youth Art Competition Linking Sports, Sustainability and Climate

The municipality of Latina (Italy) has issued a public notice for a youth art competition aimed at participants under 35 (or ages 18‑30). The contest, now in its second/third edition, invites entries that transform discarded sports equipment into artworks or create works on the theme of sport and climate change, using either traditional media or artificial intelligence. Submissions are accepted until 21 September 2026 (recycled‑material track) and 19 October 2026 (sport‑climate track). A total prize pool of €1,500 will be awarded: €500 for the best hand‑painted piece, €500 for the best AI‑generated piece, and €500 for the winner of the hand‑vs‑AI showdown.

Andrea Chiarato, the city’s assessor for Sport and Youth Policies, said the initiative “addresses the urgent global challenge of environmental pollution and promotes ecological behaviour among the new generations.” Winners will be exhibited at the Cambellotti Museum and later displayed in the Sports Department offices, highlighting the link between creativity, sustainability and emerging digital tools.
