Latina municipal council debates public works and foundation funding

In Latina, local council discussions have highlighted administrative disputes regarding public works and the management of the Fondazione Latina 2032.

Councilor Carmela Santangelo challenged Mayor Fabio Termine regarding road maintenance in the San Michele district. Santangelo argued that road resurfacing projects, which the administration claimed as its own, were actually made possible through an amendment proposed by the opposition during a budget variation. She emphasized that recognizing the role of the opposition is essential for institutional respect and community needs.

Separately, Councilor Antonia Rodà, the assessor for Heritage, Budget, and Participations, addressed the logistical and financial status of the Fondazione Latina 2032. Rodà detailed the municipality's commitments, including the free use of a property at Piazza Dante and the temporary secondment of a staff member. To support the foundation, the city has allocated 119,000 euros for extraordinary maintenance of the Piazza Dante premises, with plans to move forward with design direction documents shortly. The former Bank of Italy building is also being evaluated as a potential temporary headquarters.
