Latina's Falcone and Borsellino Park playground closed after safety checks

The newly renovated Falcone and Borsellino Park in Latina reopened, but within hours local police ordered the closure of the large dinosaur-shaped slide after discovering several bolts missing. The problem was uncovered during the removal of a wasp nest that had been reported earlier in the day.

Vice mayor Massimiliano Carnevale said the missing bolts will be re‑installed promptly and stressed that the equipment is intended for children up to 14 years old. The municipal firm responsible for the installation will carry out further safety inspections before the playground can be reopened to the public.
