Latino voter turnout surges in early voting as Democrats deploy influencers
Democratic strategists are implementing new methods to re-engage Latino voters following a decline in support during the 2024 elections. The campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, BOLD PAC, has launched a program to connect social media influencers with local communities. These creators, such as Alexa Flores, are tasked with producing organic content and participating in get-out-the-vote events in key swing districts, including locations in Arizona and New Mexico.
Simultaneously, new data from the Democratic firm TargetSmart indicates a significant surge in Latino participation in the current midterm cycle. Analysis of early voting across 229 counties shows that the Latino share of the early vote is outpacing levels seen in both 2022 and 2024. Notably, the raw number of early Latino votes cast as of October 8 has already exceeded the total recorded at the same point during the 2024 presidential election cycle.
