Lattarico launches gardening school for youth with Down syndrome

A new educational and social project titled ‘Horti della Contessa’ has been launched in Lattarico at the Villa Contessa Historical Park. The initiative establishes a gardening school specifically designed for young people with Down syndrome.

Participants will engage in both theoretical and practical training, covering tasks such as sowing, flowerbed maintenance, and the study of historical botanical species. The program aims to foster personal autonomy, responsibility, and community participation by allowing students to act as custodians and narrators of the park’s historical botanical heritage, which dates back to the early 19th century.
