Latterico priest banned from residence after stalking allegations
A judge in Calabria issued a residence ban on a Catholic priest serving the parish of Regina, a frazione of Latterico, after a local woman filed a complaint accusing him of persecutory behaviour. The investigation, launched by the Carabinieri following the complaint, alleges that the priest repeatedly approached the woman's home, made public accusations about property and utility management, and engaged in other intimidating conduct that caused her persistent anxiety.
The preliminary‑investigation judge deemed the precautionary measure necessary, restricting the priest from residing anywhere in the municipality of Latterico. The case remains under investigation, and the priest retains the presumption of innocence pending further judicial review.
