Lattes Grinzane Prize to announce winner in Alba on October 17

The 16th edition of the Lattes Grinzane Prize will conclude on October 17 at the Teatro Sociale Busca in Alba. The ceremony will feature a keynote lecture by Amitav Ghosh, who has also been awarded the 2026 Lattes Grinzane Special Prize.

The competition, organized by the Fondazione Bottari Lattes, features five finalists: Julia Deck, Mathias Enard, Andrew Miller, Andrew Porter, and Clara Usón. The award recognizes the best fiction published in the last year and involves student juries from 25 institutions across Italy and abroad.

This year, the jury expands to include four new institutions: the Liceo Statale Niccolò Forteguerri in Pistoia, the Nuovo Polo Scolastico in Finale Ligure, the Lycée René Char in Avignon, France, and the Antonio Magarotto Institute for the Deaf in Turin. The inclusion of the Turin institute allows the ceremony to incorporate sign language for the first time.
