Latur police arrest corporator and two others for murder

Police in Latur, Maharashtra, have arrested three individuals, including Altaf Pathan, a corporator from the NCP Ajit Pawar faction, in connection with the brutal murder of a 35-year-old man.

The victim, identified as Sheikh Mansur Ali of Parli, was reportedly attacked outside Hotel Amer on the night of September 16 while traveling to Bidar. According to police reports, the incident stemmed from a long-standing financial dispute involving approximately 10 lakh rupees related to the sand business.

Witnesses and family members stated that the attackers used sharp weapons and stones during the assault. Mansur Ali was rushed to a government hospital but was declared dead by doctors. The arrested individuals include Altaf Khan Sardar Khan Pathan, Khaled Hamid Sheikh, and Umar Mahbub Sheikh. Police are currently investigating the case using CCTV footage and other evidence.
