Latvia business agencies call for legal predictability and tourism support
The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) has entered into agreements with various tourism industry organizations to enhance the sector's competitiveness. The joint action plan for 2027–2029 focuses on preparing marketing scenarios, creating business support programs, and utilizing data-driven evaluations. This follows reports of growth in the sector, with June 2026 seeing a 5% increase in guests compared to the previous year.
Separately, LIAA and other business groups, including the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are calling for greater legal predictability following the Cabinet of Ministers' decision to reject the €560 million K2 Ventum wind farm project. Business leaders emphasized that transparent processes and coordinated institutional actions are essential for attracting foreign direct investment and maintaining the country's credibility with international financiers.
