Latvia conducts military exercises on eastern border

The Latvian National Armed Forces, in coordination with the State Border Guard and the State Police, will conduct military exercises along the country's eastern border from November 2 to November 10. The drills will take place in the Alūksne, Balvi, and Ludza municipalities, including the area around Kārsava.

The exercises aim to improve unit deployment and movement within border territories, inspect elements of the Baltic defense line during both day and night, and strengthen inter-institutional coordination. This includes enhancing information exchange and joint actions to ensure timely and effective responses to potential security threats.

These maneuvers are part of a regular training process designed to maintain combat readiness, test the practical implementation of defense plans, and bolster Latvia's overall defense capabilities. Residents in the affected regions should expect to observe the movement of soldiers and military equipment during this period.
