Latvia employment survey: ICT sector most attractive

A survey conducted by Fifty5Blue reveals that the information and communication technology (ICT) sector remains the most attractive industry for both students and employees in Latvia. Approximately 29% of students and 24% of salaried workers expressed a preference for this sector, with interest rising to 34% among professionals aged 25 to 34.

Other sectors showing significant interest include transport and storage, as well as finance and insurance. Manufacturing, electricity, gas, and heating industries also rank among the more attractive options. Conversely, sectors such as extractive industries, professional and technical services, and waste management reported the lowest levels of appeal.

Regarding specific employers, Latvijas valsts meži and Latvenergo are identified as highly attractive to both groups. Other top-rated companies for employees include Air Baltic, LMT, Swedbank, the Bank of Latvia, and MikroTik.
