Latvia hosts 14th annual Career Week focused on energy

The 14th annual Career Week is taking place across Latvia from October 5 to 9. Organized by the State Education Development Agency (VIAA) in collaboration with local municipalities, the event aims to introduce students to current labor market trends, various professions, and educational opportunities.

This year’s central theme is “Energy in Our Lives.” Each day focuses on a specific type of energy, such as electricity, bioenergy, and thermal energy. Partner organizations, including Latvenergo and Bio-Venta, are providing educational materials and inspirational videos to help students understand the diversity of roles within the energy sector, including the importance of STEM skills.

As part of the activities, the Riga State Technical School (RVT) is hosting events at its Technology and Innovation Center and conducting career consultations at various schools. The week will conclude at RVT with the opening of a new practical training polygon for the Energy Department, designed to provide students with a modern learning environment that closely mimics real-world working conditions.
