Latvia to host 2027 UCI Nations Cup junior cycling stage

Latvia has been selected to host one of only three planned European stages of the UCI Nations Cup junior road cycling competition. Scheduled to take place from July 2 to July 4, 2027, the event will feature both male and female junior athletes.

The competition is expected to draw up to 300 athletes from at least 25 different countries. The event will be held in the Vidzeme region and is planned to include a prologue and two separate stages. This marks the most prestigious road cycling event ever held in the country.

The UCI Nations Cup serves as a major platform for emerging talent, including future Grand Tour riders. In 2027, the European circuit will consist of stages in Belgium, France, and Latvia, with the grand final held in Italy. Participation in these races also determines quotas for the UCI World Championships and the UEC European Championships.
