Latvia to experience cooler, wetter weather in early September

Latvia is transitioning into a wetter and cooler autumn pattern as September begins. According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, a cyclone has moved closer to the country, bringing low atmospheric pressure and increased precipitation.

Early in the week, skies will be partly cloudy with occasional sunshine. While Monday may see only light local rain, thunderstorms and heavy downpours are expected in some areas during the afternoon and evening of Tuesday and Wednesday. Winds will be light to moderate, though coastal gusts could reach up to 15 m/s.

Temperatures are expected to decrease gradually. Daytime highs will range between +17°C and +25°C, depending on the region, with eastern areas remaining warmer. By the weekend, temperatures are forecast to drop further, accompanied by widespread rain and gusty winds across the country.
