Latvian clubs RFS and Liepāja play UEFA Conference League qualification matches

RFS secured a 4-1 home victory over Icelandic side Vestri in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League second‑round qualifier, with goals from Stefans Paničs, Jānis Ikaunieks, Rostands Ndžiki and Darko Lemajičs. The Latvian side will travel to Reykjavik for the return match on 30 July.

In a separate fixture, Liepāja were defeated 0-2 by Austria Wien in Jūrmala, the match being moved from Liepāja due to stadium damage after a concert. Austria’s goals came from Florian Vustinger (penalty) and Morics Velss. The second leg will be played in Vienna.

Both results, alongside earlier wins by Riga and Rīga, determine which Latvian clubs will advance to the next qualifying round.
