Latvia sentences woman to six years for funding Russian military

A Latvian court has sentenced Polina Kamleva to six years in prison for providing financial support to the Russian military. The sentence includes a three-year suspended term, leaving a remaining prison sentence of five years, one month, and 25 days after accounting for time spent in pre-trial detention.

Kamleva, described by local media as a ‘pro-Russian activist,’ was accused of sending approximately 43 euros to Russia via an acquaintance in Belarus. The funds were reportedly intended for the purchase of an electronic warfare system to jam drones. The investigation into the financing of an armed conflict occurring outside Latvian territory was conducted by the State Security Service (VDD).
