Latvian Football Federation denies RFS request to reschedule Cup final

The Latvian Football Federation (LFF) Competition Organization Committee has rejected a request from FC RFS to reschedule the Latvian Cup final. The final, featuring FK Riga and FK Auda, is set to take place on November 20 at the Skonto stadium.

FC RFS had filed an objection regarding the timing of the match, questioning the consistency and integrity of the competition organization. The club raised concerns about the deviation from previously indicated late-October timelines and the potential impact on their interests.

In its decision, the LFF committee stated that after evaluating the Latvian Cup regulations, the Virsliga championship calendar, the UEFA club competition schedule, and upcoming national team international breaks, there were no grounds to change the date. The committee noted that the scheduling took into account FK Riga’s participation in the UEFA Conference League and the player workloads for both finalists during the UEFA Nations League period.
