Latvian government completes 16 of 61 priority tasks

Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs reported that 16 out of 61 government priority tasks have been fully implemented. He expressed optimism that the majority of these priorities will be completed by the beginning of October.

One major achievement involves the reorganization of the election system. Following stress tests and maximum cybersecurity measures, the keys to the system have been handed over to the Central Election Commission. This effort involved multiple entities, including the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development, LMT, and Tet.

Progress has been delayed regarding the Ministry of Health’s plan to create a unified doctor appointment system. While the system is built, its implementation is pending further cybersecurity testing due to recent cyberattacks in the country. Once launched, the system is expected to reduce medical queues by 15-20%. Additionally, the government is preparing to address public procurement oversight to increase transparency in state tenders.
