Latvian polls show Apvienotais saraksts leading ahead of elections

A recent poll conducted by Latvijas Fakti and Faktu logs indicates that if the 15th Saeima elections were held now, the 'Apvienotais saraksts' (United List), led by Prime Minister Andra Kulberga, would receive the highest voter support at 15.6%. This lead is nearly double that of its closest competitor, 'Latvija pirmajā vietā' (Latvia First), which stands at 8.3%.

Other parties following in the rankings include the National Alliance (7.3%), Progressives (7.1%), the Union of Greens and Farmers (6.9%), Sovereign Power/Jaunlatvieši (6.3%), and New Unity (5.9%). Based on these results, seven political forces could potentially cross the 5% threshold required to enter parliament. Notably, over one-third of respondents remain undecided or intend not to participate, suggesting significant potential for shifts in the final campaign period.

Regarding the current administration, the first 100 days of Andra Kulberga’s government are being viewed through the lens of the upcoming elections. While the government is operating in a pre-election atmosphere, it is credited with renewing public interest and optimism in the political process, countering a previous period of societal resignation.
