Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs to compete in rally
Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs has announced his participation in the upcoming “Latvija” mini-rally and rally sprint competitions. The event is scheduled to take place on October 31 and November 1 at the Biķernieku track in Riga.
Kulbergs will compete alongside co-driver Andis Veinbergs in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI all-wheel-drive vehicle. This marks his eighth year participating in the “Latvija” rally series. His previous competitive history includes a debut in 2014 and various podium finishes in specific classes, such as winning the “Open 4WD” class in the mini-rally category in 2023.
The Prime Minister’s return to racing follows a significant recovery period after a serious traffic accident in May 2022, which resulted in two broken legs and required five months of wheelchair use.
