Latvian rally team rises to ninth place in Finland WRC round
Latvian World Rally Championship crew driver Mārtiņš Sesks and co‑driver Renārs Francs improved to ninth overall after day two of the 2026 Finland Rally, moving up one position from eighth. The pair posted the eighth‑fastest time in the second stage and held ninth place in the combined classification.
The Finland round is the tenth event of the 2026 WRC calendar, with seven more stages scheduled for Saturday and two final stages on Sunday. The rally is being broadcast on Go3 Sport 1. After the three stages completed, French driver Sébastien Ogier leads the championship with 177 points, followed by Japan's Takamoto Kacut (152) and Sweden's Sami Pajari (144). The Latvian crew currently sits 15th in the season standings with 12 points.
Sesks and Francs are slated to compete next in the Italian rally (1–4 October) and may also appear in the Saudi Arabia event (11–14 November). Their WRC debut was in 2024, and they previously finished seventh in Estonia and ninth in Saudi Arabia under challenging conditions.
