Latvijas gāze secures natural gas supply for upcoming heating season

Latvijas gāze has secured the necessary amount of natural gas for the upcoming heating season by completing injections into the Inčukalns underground gas storage facility. Aigars Kalvītis, chairman of the company's board, stated that the company is fully prepared to ensure gas supplies to its clients.

While geopolitical developments in the Middle East are causing price volatility and increased competition between European and Asian buyers, Kalvītis noted that there are no observed risks of physical gas shortages in the Baltic region. Supply stability is supported by two regional liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals and various interconnections.

Future price dynamics will depend on global developments and winter weather conditions. Most clients have already finalized supply contracts; those with fixed-price agreements will be shielded from market fluctuations, while those using exchange-indexed tariffs may experience changes.
