Laufenn brand of Hankook Tire to supply Dacia Sandero with OE tires
Hankook Tire's global brand, Laufenn, has secured a contract to supply original equipment (OE) tires for the Dacia Sandero, a small hatchback produced by the Renault Group. The Sandero has been a top-selling passenger car in Europe for two consecutive years, in 2024 and 2025.
Laufenn will provide two types of second-generation summer tires: the S FIT2 performance tire in a 16-inch specification and the G FIT2 comfort tire in a 15-inch specification. The S FIT2 features a high-silica compound and improved tread block design, which the company claims reduces wet braking distances by approximately 16% and increases mileage by 15% compared to previous models.
This partnership marks an expansion of Laufenn's presence in the European OE market, following previous supplies to Volkswagen Group models such as the Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Polo, and various SEAT models. Following the initial OE supply, the G FIT2 is expected to be released to the European replacement tire market in 2027.
