Launaguet investigation launched into suspected femicide

A woman in her 40s was killed in Launaguet during the night of September 7-8. According to the Toulouse public prosecutor, the victim was shot in the head upon returning home from work and her body was subsequently set on fire using an flammable product.

The victim's 54-year-old husband was found over a kilometer away with serious gunshot wounds to the head. Investigators are treating the case as a suspected femicide followed by a suicide attempt by the spouse, who remains in critical condition in the hospital. Records indicate the husband had a prior conviction in 2002 for the 1999 murder of a former partner.
