Launceston library project advances with architect selection

The Launceston Town Council has reached a new milestone in its project to transform a former Barclays Bank building on Broad Street into a centralized library and community hub. Following the collaborative purchase of the site by the Launceston Town Council and Cornwall Council, the project has moved into the building phase.

A tender process has concluded with the selection of an architect. The appointed design team will lead a professional group including structural engineers, building services engineers, a quantity surveyor, a principal designer, and fire engineering specialists. The team is tasked with developing plans for the site's conversion, which includes securing full planning permission and Listed Building consent.
