Launceston Rugby Club adds Finlay Cackett, Sam Snell and James Heale

Launceston Rugby Club announced three new signings for its senior men’s squad ahead of the September season start. The club secured back‑rower Finlay Cackett from Topsham, versatile forward Sam Snell and experienced winger James Heale. All three will join the team under new head coach Steve Perry.

Cackett, a Holsworthy native, highlighted his excitement to play closer to home and bring aggression and experience to the side. Snell, who previously played for Cornwall RLFC, Saltash and Taunton Titans, said he aims to work hard and earn a place in the starting lineup. Heale, returning after a 12‑year absence, expressed his desire to contribute to the club’s success.

The signings expand an already sizeable recruitment drive that saw seven other players join or re‑sign over the offseason, positioning Launceston for a competitive campaign.
