Laura Ballesteros joins Movimiento Ciudadano leadership in Querétaro

Laura Ballesteros has assumed the role of state coordinator for Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) in Querétaro, aiming to position the party as a “third way” ahead of the 2027 electoral process. During her presentation, Ballesteros emphasized that the citizens of Querétaro embrace political alternation and are not afraid to explore new political options.

Local deputy Paul Ospital welcomed the appointment, stating that Ballesteros’s national experience will strengthen the party’s presence in the region. Ospital noted that while there is fatigue regarding the current practices of the PAN, the goal is to build a local political alternative rather than simply switching between established parties.

Ballesteros highlighted the party's successes in states like Jalisco and Nuevo León as models for future growth. She also announced plans to strengthen the participation of women and youth through a dedicated Gender Unit to address political violence. Additionally, she criticized federal guidelines regarding audience rights, suggesting they could lead to self-censorship in media, and called for better protection mechanisms for journalists.
