Laura Catarina Honors Vander Lee at Rio's Teatro Rival Petrobras

On August 7, the Teatro Rival Petrobras in Rio de Janeiro hosted a tribute concert by singer‑songwriter Laura Catarina, marking the ten‑year anniversary of the death of Brazilian musician Vander Lee. Catarina performed a selection of Lee’s best‑known songs, including “Esperando aviões,” “Românticos,” “Onde Deus possa me ouvir,” and “Iluminado,” accompanied by guitar, piano and electric piano. The show also featured new material from Catarina’s own repertoire and highlighted her personal connection to Lee’s legacy.

The concert, limited to 350 seats and open to audiences 18 and older, was presented as a celebration of Lee’s influence on Brazilian music and a showcase of Catarina’s evolving artistic voice.
