Laura Chimaras transitions from acting to music and poetry

Actress Laura Chimaras has expanded her career into music and poetry following a transformative experience performing her poem ‘24 horas’. Originally a child actor in Venezuela, Chimaras moved to the United States and gained recognition for roles in Telemundo’s ‘Sangre de mi tierra’ and Bad Bunny’s ‘Solo de mí’ music video.

Her creative shift was inspired by a performance where she paired a poem written for her late father, Venezuelan actor Yanis Chimaras, with background music. This led to the release of her first studio album, ‘Memorias’, in 2024, followed by a live album in 2025 and several singles. Chimaras has also authored books, including the Amazon No. 1 bestseller ‘Nunca pierdas la fe’, and co-wrote the Emmy-nominated documentary short ‘Bully’.
