Laura Di Raimondo urges extension of Italy's early retirement scheme to 2029

Laura Di Raimondo, director general of Asstel – Assotelecomunicazioni, said that the isopensione measure, which allows workers to retire up to seven years before the regular age, must be confirmed and extended to 2029. She argued that the extension would provide a crucial balance between business competitiveness, responsible transition management and employee protection, especially for sectors heavily affected by technological and occupational change.

Di Raimondo highlighted the telecom industry's deep transformations and stressed that a flexible, regulated tool like isopensione is essential to support generational renewal, the uptake of digital skills and the re‑organisation of companies. Without legislative continuity, she warned a regulatory gap could harm both firms and workers.
