Laura Hamilton defends bikini gardening video after social media backlash

Laura Hamilton, presenter of Channel 4’s “A Place in the Sun”, posted an Instagram video in which she gardened wearing a bikini and wellies, pruning hedges and dancing to music. The clip drew praise from many of her 243,000 followers but also attracted criticism, with some viewers unfollowing her and sending negative messages.

Hamilton said she blocks or deletes hostile comments and replied to detractors with “Don’t follow me then”. She stressed that she has worked in property since age 19 and wants to balance a serious professional image with a fun personal side. She also noted the launch of a YouTube channel offering property advice and renovations.
