Laura Itzel Castillo, President of the Senate Board of Directors and a member of the Morena party, has been hospitalized following an ankle fracture. Castillo announced via social media that she will remain under medical supervision to manage inflammation before undergoing surgery.

Due to her hospitalization, Castillo will be absent from the sessions of the Permanent Commission. Despite her physical absence, she indicated that she intends to continue her legislative responsibilities in coordination with her team. During a session on August 12, fellow legislators expressed wishes for her swift recovery.
