Laura Loomer reverses stance after Ukraine visit, denounces Russian propaganda

Laura Loomer, a far‑right activist and ally of former US President Donald Trump, traveled to Ukraine and posted on X that she had been "propagandized by Russian media". She said she lived in an "information echo chamber" and apologized for earlier pro‑Kremlin rhetoric, including past accusations that Ukraine was full of Nazis and that President Volodymyr Zelensky was a "jihadist apologist".

Loomer explained that seeing evidence of Russian war crimes, such as photographs from the Bucha massacre, convinced her that Russia and President Vladimir Putin were the true sources of misinformation. She stated she would not delete her older posts but would point out that she was wrong. Russian state media editor Margarita Simonyan noted Loomer’s prior columns for RT, which Loomer said she wrote in 2021 before changing her view of Russia.

The activist’s reversal was reported in both English‑language and Croatian media, highlighting her shift from opposing aid to Ukraine to condemning Russian actions.
