Laura Loomer visits Kyiv monastery, denounces Russian drone strike

American blogger and MAGA activist Laura Loomer traveled to Kyiv’s Lavra Pecerska monastic complex, touring the Cathedral of the Dormition and other damaged sites after a Russian drone strike on 15 June that destroyed more than 80 % of the roof. She posted on X, writing, “Putin launched a drone attack against Jesus Christ… the Fourth Reich reborn and Russia does not want you to see this video,” and highlighted the restoration work underway.

Loomer was accompanied by Ukrainian officials including Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy Tetiana Berejna, presidential aide Serhii Kyslytsia, and Lavra reserve director Maksym Ostapenko. She also attended the “Universe Reborn” exhibition displaying relics saved from the war damage. In a later comment she noted the warm reception she received in Kyiv, contrasting it with how she expected to be treated in Moscow if she criticized Russian authorities.
