FIFA announces star lineup for 2026 World Cup closing ceremony

FIFA confirmed that the closing ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place at New York‑New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on Sunday, 19 July 2026, beginning 90 minutes before kickoff at 13:30 ET. The event will feature a special appearance by Hollywood actor Tom Cruise alongside musical performers Laura Pausini, Robbie Williams, Nicole Scherzinger, YouTube creator IShowSpeed and EGOT‑winner Jennifer Hudson, who will sing a special rendition of the U.S. national anthem. A historic halftime show will also be staged for the first time in a World Cup final, headlined by Shakira, Madonna, BTS, Justin Bieber, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus and Coldplay, with artistic direction by Chris Martin. Production is being handled by Balich Wonder Studio, and Heimo Schirgi, the tournament’s chief operating officer, said the ceremony will “close the circle” of the 48‑team, three‑host‑nation tournament through music, culture and football. Ticket packages for the final range from 267 000 to 520 000 Mexican pesos, reflecting the event’s high demand and global appeal.
