Laura Wolvaardt leads South Africa to series win over Zimbabwe
South Africa Women secured an unassailable 3-0 lead in their five-match WT20I series against Zimbabwe following an 80-run victory in the third match held in Bulawayo. Captain Laura Wolvaardt led the charge with an unbeaten 126 runs off 62 balls, marking her fourth WT20I century.
Wolvaardt’s performance set several milestones, including becoming the first South African woman to surpass 3,000 T20I runs and equaling Smriti Mandhana for the most international centuries in women’s cricket with 18. She also established a new record for the highest individual T20I score by a Proteas Women batter.
South Africa posted a total of 200/1, supported by Karabo Meso, who scored an unbeaten 50. In response, Zimbabwe was bowled out for 120, largely due to a five-wicket haul by Annerie Dercksen, who finished with figures of 5/15.
