Laura Wontorra becomes first female moderator for Sky Bundesliga top match

Laura Wontorra has made history as the first female presenter to moderate a Bundesliga top match for Sky. The broadcast took place at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund for the match between Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Wontorra was joined by experts Lothar Matthäus and Tabea Kemme. Reflecting on the milestone, Wontorra stated that while she has achieved previous career milestones, such as moderating international matches and World Cup coverage, this role represents a significant moment in football television. She emphasized that her professional approach remains focused on performance over gender.

The presenter noted that her perception of women in sports broadcasting has always been one of normalcy, citing her mother, Ariane Wontorra, who was a successful sports presenter during the 1980s and 1990s.
