Laure-Alice Bouvier sentenced for unauthorized access to judicial data

Former lawyer and media personality Laure-Alice Bouvier has been sentenced to 18 months of suspended prison time following a plea bargain. Bouvier admitted to obtaining and disclosing confidential information from the Cassiopée judicial database, a system reserved for legal professionals. While investigators initially considered charges of fraud and undeclared work, those specific allegations were not upheld.

In addition to the suspended sentence, the court imposed a three-year ban on practicing law, a three-year period of ineligibility for public office, and a three-year prohibition from holding judicial functions. Bouvier, who was previously suspended by the Paris Bar Association in October 2024, has not appealed the decision and is now listed as a non-practicing lawyer.

In recent statements, Bouvier expressed regret, attributing her actions to “naivety” and an intention to defend her clients. She noted that had she known she lacked authorization to access the information, she would not have included it in her legal filings. She has since transitioned into corporate consulting.
