Laureano Oubiña launches controversial drug‑smuggling tourism route in Galicia

Former Spanish smuggler and social‑media influencer Laureano Oubiña, known as “El Pajarito,” has announced a tourist boat tour called the “Ruta del Narcotráfico.” The one‑day voyage will navigate the Rías Baixas, covering the coasts of Arousa, Pontevedra and Vigo, and travel between Baiona and O Grove. Participants will hear first‑hand accounts of historic smuggling operations, see former drop‑off points for contraband, and visit a lookout used to evade security forces. The itinerary includes a lunch stop on Ons Island, with a menu priced at €35. Tickets cost €189 for adults, €90 for youths aged 11‑17, and €25 for children under 10, and the boat can carry up to 250 passengers. Oubiña has been planning the trip for several months and is negotiating with shipping companies to launch the tour on 29 August.
