Lauren Boebert denies ethics complaint regarding staff relationships
Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert is facing an ethics complaint alleging inappropriate sexual relationships with three members of her congressional staff. The complaint, filed on September 17 by investigative journalist David Wheeler, names former district director Clarice Navarro, district chief of staff Raven Finegan, and former chief of staff Jeffrey Small.
The allegations suggest that some encounters occurred at Boebert’s district office, in vehicles, or in hotel rooms allegedly funded by her campaign. Furthermore, the complaint alleges that Boebert arranged a $200,000 payment to Navarro in March 2025 following threats to file an ethics complaint. Wheeler claims the filing is supported by text messages, financial records, and recorded conversations.
Boebert has strongly denied all allegations, describing them as “filthy garbage” and asserting she has never been in an inappropriate relationship with any staff member. Her office characterized the filing as a politically motivated attempt to damage her reputation. Clarice Navarro has also rejected the claims, calling them false and defamatory.
