Lauren Boebert denies ethics complaint alleging staff affairs

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is facing a sworn ethics complaint filed with the House Ethics Committee by David B. Wheeler of American Muckrakers. The complaint, submitted on September 17, alleges that Boebert engaged in sexual relationships with three congressional staffers: former district director Clarice Navarro Ratzlaff, current chief of staff Raven Finegan, and former chief of staff Jeffrey Small.

The filing further alleges that Boebert arranged an approximately $200,000 payment to Navarro Ratzlaff in 2025 to prevent her from filing her own ethics complaint. The complaint also includes an allegation of a sexual encounter involving Boebert, Navarro Ratzlaff, and former Rep. Matt Gaetz.

Boebert and her representatives have denied all allegations, describing them as “utterly false,” “baseless,” and “politically motivated.” Boebert stated in an interview that she is not lesbian or bisexual and has never been involved in inappropriate relationships with staff. Clarice Navarro Ratzlaff also strongly rejected the claims, calling them “entirely false, defamatory, and beyond ridiculous.” Matt Gaetz has challenged the allegations by demanding the immediate release of any video evidence of the purported encounter.
