Lauren Jauregui addresses body image at 2026 MTV VMAs

Singer Lauren Jauregui, formerly of Fifth Harmony, addressed body image and health during an interview at the 2026 MTV VMAs. Speaking with E! News, Jauregui described it as “punk as f**k to not be a twig right now,” expressing her refusal to conform to specific societal beauty standards.

Jauregui also shared her experience living with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), noting that she experiences the physical fluctuations common to women. She emphasized that her confidence and sense of self come from within rather than external validation or online opinions.

Regarding her music, Jauregui mentioned the positive reception to her recent single, “Everybody’s On Drugs,” released on September 16. She noted that her current creative direction leans toward alternative rock, a sound her fans have expressed interest in.
