Lauren Parker wins sixth world title in Pontevedra

Lauren Parker has become Australia’s most successful Para triathlete after securing her sixth PTWC World Championship title at the World Triathlon Championship Finals in Pontevedra. By winning this sixth crown, Parker surpassed the previous national record of five world titles held by Bill Chaffey.

Parker maintained a dominant lead throughout the swim, bike, and run stages to secure the victory. The Australian team also saw success in other categories, with Anu Francis earning a silver medal in the Women’s PTS2 World Championship race.

In the Para Mixed Team Relay, the Australian squad—comprising Parker, Matthew Engesser, Maggie Sandles, and Jack Howell—finished in second place to claim a silver medal, trailing the world champions by six seconds.
