Laurence Chauvy releases genealogical book ‘La Malle d'archives’

Writer Laurence Chauvy has released a new book titled ‘La Malle d'archives’, published by 5 Sens Editions. The work is inspired by an archive trunk discovered in her family home in Bex, Switzerland, containing letters, diaries, and photographs.

The narrative traces two distinct family branches—one modest, consisting of locksmiths and surveyors, and another more intellectual, including pastors, professors, and botanists—as they converge through the marriage of the author's parents. The book weaves personal genealogy with historical figures and events, such as the collaboration between Jean-Balthasar Schnetzler and Henri Nestlé on milk flour, and connections to aeronauts Auguste and Jean Piccard.
