Laurențiu Reghecampf avoids football ban after settling debt

Laurențiu Reghecampf has avoided a potential ban from Romanian football following a dispute with Universitatea Craiova. The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) Discipline and Ethics Commission rejected Craiova's request for sanctions after the outstanding debt of 150,000 euros was settled.

The debt originated from a unilateral termination clause in Reghecampf's previous contract with Craiova in 2023. While the club had also sought 17,000 euros in late penalties, the FRF decided to lift previous disciplinary measures once the principal amount was paid. Universitatea Craiova officials stated they would not appeal the decision, describing the outcome as normal given the settlement.

In recent sporting news, Reghecampf has begun his third tenure at FCSB with a 1-0 victory over Oțelul Galați. During the match, club officials noted that Reghecampf, rather than owner Gigi Becali, was responsible for tactical substitutions.
