Laurențiu Reghecampf faces squad overhaul and defeat at Esperance Tunis

Romanian football manager Laurențiu Reghecampf is undergoing a period of significant transition and scrutiny following his return to Esperance Tunis. During the summer transfer window, Reghecampf oversaw a massive squad overhaul, with reports indicating that 23 players left the club—a figure described by Tunisian journalist Nazih Karshawi as unprecedented in the club’s 107-year history.

However, his tenure has faced immediate challenges on the pitch. Esperance Tunis recently suffered a 3-1 defeat against Jeunesse Sportive Omrane. The match was marked by a violent incident in the 63rd minute where player Mohamed Ben Ali received a red card following a dangerous tackle on Mohamed Ben Amor, who had to be carried off on a stretcher.

Amidst these developments, football agent Anamaria Prodan expressed concern regarding Reghecampf’s career trajectory. While acknowledging his successes, including titles in Sudan with Al-Hilal Omdurman and in Rwanda, Prodan suggested that the manager has “lost his balance” and expressed hope that he would eventually return to high-level European leagues such as the Bundesliga or Poland.
