Laurent Gbagbo reorganizes PPA-CI leadership in Ivory Coast

Former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo has announced a structural reorganization of the Parties of African Peoples-Ivory Coast (PPA-CI). The move involves delegating specific powers to five key figures to foster a more collegiate leadership style and promote unity of action.

The newly appointed officials include:

• Assoa Adou: First Vice-President, responsible for party lines and ensuring compliance with statutes and internal regulations. • Hubert Oulaye: Second Vice-President, overseeing party life and presiding over Central Committee sessions. • Emmanuel Ackah: Third Vice-President, tasked with party animation, political activity, and relations with national institutions. • Justin Koné Katinan: Fourth Vice-President, in charge of general party policy and government program coordination. • Sébastien Dano Djédjé: President of the Strategic and Political Council (CSP), responsible for political training and general supervision.

This reorganization follows recent internal challenges, including the mass resignation of several high-ranking officials in July who departed to join a rival political project. Gbagbo stated that the distribution of responsibilities aims to strengthen the party through complementary roles and collective direction.
