Laurent Mekies renews as Red Bull Racing Team Principal until 2031

Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Laurent Mekies Team Principal contract renewal

Red Bull Racing has officially announced that Laurent Mekies will remain as CEO and Team Principal through the end of the 2031 season. The long-term contract provides stability to the Milton Keynes-based team following a period of transition.

Mekies, who took over the role in July 2025 following the departure of Christian Horner, has been credited with navigating a difficult period for the team. His leadership comes as the team prepares for new regulations and a partnership with Ford to develop an in-house power unit.

The renewal follows recent competitive successes, including a victory by Max Verstappen in Singapore. Mekies expressed pride in continuing his journey with Oracle Red Bull Racing and acknowledged the support of shareholders Chalerm Yoovidhya and Mark Mateschitz, as well as executive Oliver Mintzlaff.
